Judy Masliyah has been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for more than 30 years, and has held her California private practice since 1988.

She works with individuals, families, couples, children, and adolescents, focusing on issues of parenting, communication, self-esteem, marriage, divorce adjustment and women's issues, and specializes in treating child sexual abuse, rape, and incest victims of both genders.

She facilitates many therapy groups, including those for women and teen girls who have been molested, groups for both motherless daughters and un-mothered daughters, mothers of incest survivors, and male partners of abuse survivors.

Judy's career has included work as a juvenile probation officer in East Los Angeles, a group therapist for students at Oberlin College, a therapist at Ohio's Lorain County Mental Health, an instructor at University of Utah's Continuing Education, and she had a private practice as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for 10 years in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Locally, Judy has worked as a therapist for Monterey County Mental Health, and as a Parent Educator and Treatment Coordinator at the Family Resource Center.

Judy also has been a consultant and trainer for businesses, civic organizations and schools, conducting seminars on topics that include motivation, communication, teamwork, leadership, assertiveness, diversity, interpersonal relations in the workforce, conflict resolution, sexual harassment in schools, working with the sexually abused student, and child abuse prevention and intervention for teachers and administrators.

Judy was on the board of the Monterey Rape Crisis Center from 1991 until 2012 and served as President from 1998-2000.

A member of the board of the Monterey Chapter of CAMFT from 1994-2001, she chaired Programs and Professional Growth, and was an Officer, serving as President-elect, President and Past President.  She is a Clinical Member of the American Group Psychotherapy Association and is in the National Registry of Certified Group Psychotherapists.  She also is a Certified CAMFT supervisor. 

Judy holds a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Chapman College.
